One thing anyone can tell you about what they like to eat at anytime is a good sandwich and perfectly crispy fries. Some of us think that going through a restaurant drive through window or making them yourself bathing in a pot of hot oil and all of that is good and all but that isn’t good for you and there are better ways to make a good old sandwich and great fries. Today this recipe will show you how to make a great sandwich fries pairing in the comfort of your own home!
What you’ll need…
- 4 slices of toasted rye bread
- One white onion sliced and sauteed
- 1 LB of ground turkey meat
- 2 teaspoons of sea salt
- 2 teaspoon of ground black pepper
- 6 to 8 potatoes cut straight down or in wedges
- 2 tablespoons of avocado and sunflower oil
- 3 tablespoons of cajun powder
Preheat the oven to broil
Cut your six to eight potatoes into the shape you desire and place onto a large pan covered in tinfoil then drizzle the oil onto the top of the fries and cook for about 10 to 13 minutes.
In a medium non stick skillet, sauteed your onion slices in a small amount of water or 1 tablespoon of butter to brown them slightly then set aside.
In a large bowl, take your ground turkey meat and season the raw meat with sea salt and pepper then make them into patties then cook inside a non stick skillet and cook on each side until they are medium well or well done.
Take your slices of rye bread, spread mayo or your preferred spread onto it, toast them on each side on high heat for about 30 seconds then side aside.
Layout your bread, put the turkey patty, white cheddar cheese slice, onions then another turkey slice and another cheese slice then put the sandwich in the oven for 15 to 25 seconds to melt the cheese then take out and plate.
Take the fries out of the oven and place in a bowl, mix the cajun powder in the bowl and toss around with the fries then plate.
Now cut your patty melt in half and enjoy!
